*** New Battery Technologies for Electric Vehicles ***
Businesses can apply for a share of £25 million in the Faraday Battery Challenge round 2. The Faraday Battery Challenge is a £246 million investment which is spread over 4 years. This forms part of the Governments commitment to support the growth of the automotive industry.

Briefing events will be held in London, Newcastle and Cardiff throughout January and February.
To lead a project you must be a UK based business or RTO; involve at least one micro, small or SME; involve at least one other partner; involve at least 2 other partners if he lead is an RTO. Businesses could attract up to 70% of their project costs
*** Emerging and enabling & health and life sciences ***
UK businesses can apply for a share of £19 million to develop innovative ideas for new products, processes and services in the fields of emerging and enabling technologies and health and life sciences.
A further £12 million is available in Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP), this allows businesses to recruit graduates that can help them on an innovation project.

*** Low carbon technology development in the UK ***
UK business can share circa £30 million for collaborative, match funded, late stage R&D projects which advance the growth of low carbon propulsion.

Newton Bhabha UK–India Industrial Waste Challenge 2017 – This competition is now closed
UK organisation could apply for a share of £8 million to work with Indian partners on biotechnology solutions for industrial waste challenges in India.

Registration closes: Wednesday 11 October 2017 12.00pm
Innovate UK and Research Councils, the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) and the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), invested up to £8 million in projects to reduce industrial waste in India.
